How We Help

We understand that graduation is a very important part of any students career and we want them to make the most of it. Inside the Dream provides students with free formal attire. We are able to provide our services through generous donations of new and gently used formal dresses, gowns, suits, tuxedos, as well accessories and shoes. These items are given to students at no cost and remain theirs to keep.

Every year Inside the Dream helps up to 300 students at our Boutique Day, with a staff of approximately 100 dedicated volunteers. Without the commitment of our volunteers, donors, and gracious sponsors, none of this would be possible.

With your help we can continue to provide this service to our community. By supporting Inside the Dream, you'll be giving an underprivileged student an unforgettable experience and helping them celebrate their graduation with their peers.

"While the road to this great achievement might not always have been an easy one, it's because of the strength and determination of these students that they have successfully completed their last year of high school. When they receive their diploma, it is because of the goals they have set and the commitment they've made to see them accomplished. Mary Kay is proud to be a small part of the wonderful Inside the Dream program and I hope that in some way, we have helped make these inspiring students' graduation night celebration a memorable one."

"The biggest night of the Mary Kay year is Awards Night. It's a time to celebrate your accomplishments with exhilarating pride and the ultimate in glamour. And for high school kids across the county, four years of hard work and determination to succeed culminates into the biggest night of their life: prom. Continue reading"

"I thoroughly enjoyed the experience of helping out at Inside the Dream and the joy and transformation that it brought to the young ladies involved was incredible to see. If I could be a little fly on the wall for the graduation itself to see them in their full glory on their special day, it would be wonderful. As promised I am emailing you a note as a reminder that I would like to become more involved. You had mentioned that you are in need of people for the Board of Directors next year and, if you could let me know what would be involved exactly, I would appreciate it and hopefully will be able to join you and your team."

Sandra McLean, Volunteer
"Thanks so much for making one of the girls in my class so happy! Her name is Ashley Michalek and she was so happy today in class after she got her dress on Monday afternoon. It would have been nice to have more students involved, but I can work on that for next year. Ashley is having such a positive last term of Grade 8 and this experience has been great for her."

Marc Proudfoot, Grade 8 Convener
"Just want to tell you just how proud I am of your efforts to make so many young people experience a wonderful event in their lives. The two young ladies I brought were so overwhelmed with how generous the event was. You gave them a sense of joy while looking forward to their graduation which would have otherwise would have been scary or in one case she would not have attended. The Guidance counsellor is now spreading the word and I am certain next year you will have a lot more to service."
